Egos Ltd is a Consultancy, specialising in Commercial law - particularly
Contract, Intellectual Property, and Taxation, and focusing on the IT industry.
Roger Sinclair
Roger Sinclair has a legal background, having spent 18 years as a high
street solicitor, before leaving the established profession and founding and
thereafter devoting his whole time to the business carried on by Egos Ltd in
1994. He also holds a BSc(Hons) degree, and is a Fellow of the Institute of
Management.
The business
Over the course of the past 7 years we have extensive experience of dealing
with contractual, intellectual property, and taxation issues in this particular
field, including of course (since its first announcement in March 1999) IR35.
We have considered and advised on matters related to the contract terms of
well over 250 agencies, and our client-base includes well over 800
contractors/consultants, and more than 30 agencies and consultancies (ranging
from new start-ups to the long-established), together with numerous software
houses, resellers, and other IT-related businesses.
Roger Sinclair also has a large readership for his regular legal 'problem
page' in 'Freelance Informer', a fortnightly magazine published by Reed
International plc, and aimed at freelance contractors in the IT industry, where
to date he has had over 120 articles published over the period 1996-2001,
including many relating to IR35.
